*HOME CHECKS ARE MANDATORY*
ADOPTION IS EASY! Since KPOH doesn't have a traditional caged shelter facility, our process works a little bit differently. Once you have chosen a kitty(ies) you would like to meet, let us know and we will send you an adoption application to complete and return. As soon as we have reviewed it, we will get back to you.  If your application is approved, we schedule a time to bring your new kitty to you for a home visit.  It's meowy simple!
Each KPOH kitty is tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed or neutered, and checked for fleas upon intake. They are also provided with vaccinations appropriate for their age and if needed, provided ALL necessary medical and surgical treatment.

ADOPT BONDED PAIRS TOGETHER - KPOH specializing in special needs kitties & recommends adopting bonded kitties together. This helps the kitties to not only transition into their new homes easier, but a new parent should WANT to provide familiarity & comfort for their new family members. How would you like to all of a sudden be in a new place, with strangers and not have your sibling or BFF? Sounds scary, doesn't it?  Kitties & all animals experience all the emotions that we do, including suffering from PTSD. Please keep in mind the experiences they are going through. Please always adopt bonded kitties together ~ there are many single kitties available if you can only adopt one!

Adopt and Save a Life!

Here are some kitties in need of loving homes in our county and surrounding counties in Texas, listed in alphabetical order (not a complete list)!

PLEASE ADOPT - DON'T SHOP! Owners may surrender cats due to allergies, personal issues, moving, financial constraints, or other circumstances, not because the cats are "damaged".

Adoption is the simplest way to expand your family! It's a common misconception that shelter cats are inherently "damaged" or unhealthy, but this is largely untrue; many shelters prioritize the health and well-being of their cats, and they are perfectly adoptable and so deserving of a loving home. Be their SUPER HERO!!

Here is one of our OG Kitty Adoption Video starring some of our music city kitties!
Emily is one of KPOH's cherished rescuers, starting at the age of 11! She also adopted two of our kitties (Missy & Gabby) in which Gabby had to have her eye removed within hours of being rescued. Emily loved her just as much & especially adopted her & her sister. This is Emily & Missy saying hello ~ The world & kitties needs more Em's!!
